I’ll be there for...FRIENDS!

By Isabela Guedes

Friends is an American TV series created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, which aired between 1994 and 2004, with a total of 236 episodes. The series is about a group of friends who live in Manhattan, in New York City, and meet each other daily in a coffee house. It lasted for 10 years and is considered to be one of the most watched series in the world.

The truth is that FRIENDS was a landmark in American television. It received 66 awards until it ended, and the final episode became history, with the 4th place in the final ranking of the most watched series in the history of American television. It had about 52.5 million viewers. It was such an important event, that a single 30 second commercial cost $2 million! Besides, the series had a lot of cameos by Hollywood celebrities (there were over 50), such as George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Reese Witherspoon, Robin Williams, Brad Pitt, and others.

In my opinion, Friends is the best series in the world. You can have fun and learn about your own life, like how to laugh at yourself and not take life situations too seriously; to see how your friends can be your family, too; to know that sometimes you need to have some bad relationships before you find a good one; that you can compose songs with few chords and still be creative; be inspired by the evolution in the lives of some characters; to learn to take care of a monkey, a duck and a chicken pet (and this can’t be learned every day); and other lessons.

Friends is a series that will make you feel relaxed and forget the problems for 30 minutes of your day. It will make you have fun and laugh until your stomach hurts with the crazy stories. Sometimes, it will even make you cry and cheer for the characters. It is an intelligent series, well written and very funny. TV shows like that are rare.

So, if you like to laugh and have fun, it's worth to check the story about the six best friends, living the biggest follies in one of the best cities in the world!
